John Pettegrew

John Pettegrew is a historian of modern U.S. thought and culture, including documentary film, Hollywood, television, YouTube, and other aspects of twentieth and twenty-first century visual culture. He's produced a number of documentary films on local history and community engagement.  He's closely involved with both Lehigh's undergraduate minor in Documentary Storymaking and the graduate certificate program in Documentary Film.  And he teaches courses on the genre of documentary film, focusing on its capacity for producing historical knowledge.
